Set only a short distance south from Mombasa Island, Kenya,Tijara Beach is an exclusive private home which is owned and managed by Ian & Larissa Manson Hart.
Tijara is a remote romantic haven of peace which can host a maximum of 8 to 10 people. At Tijara you will only hear the roaring of the ocean as the breakers roll on to the reef, and the ever present bird song from any number of the hundreds of species that frequent our grounds. We also have our own wildlife which includes dikdik, bush-buck, wild-pigs, genet cats, bushbabies and an abundance of exotic species of butterflies…
Having worked for many years in the "corporate" world Ian & Larissa felt the time was right to change lifestyle and look for peace and tranquility away from the rat race. With Ian being born in Kenya and Larissa having lived in the country for 20 years, we could not think of a better place to make our new home than the Kenyan Coast.
The idea of an exclusive private home was inspired by own requirements whereby we try to avoid commercial destinations in favour of something small and unique. We spent more than a year looking for the perfect location away from "civilization" with large expanses combining both privacy and seclusion. Once found, we spent nearly two more years creating the place we now call HOME!
You are our personal guest in our private Eden! You will enjoy delicious home made meals, a lovely swimming pool, beautifully manicured lawns, landscaped gardens and a secluded beach; although we do choose to share it with the local fishermen who bring in the fresh catch of the day.
